Here we go, life's waiting to begin...

  • Oct. 13th, 2006 at 4:31 PM

So, it's been over a year since I've posted in this thing. Wow, a lot has changed in one year. I've moved in with Emily which has been a blessing and a curse all at the same time. A blessing because I get to see her every day, I get to come home to a place that feels like home, and We have a jumpstart on our lives together. A curse because it took a shit load of work to get this house nice and looking good, bills suck, and keeping the house clean really sucks. Work's been going crazy...I've been having a few problems there. I had two employees quit on me, I've had to hire replacements one of which fell asleep on the job...what the FUCK?! We've had a bunch of managers either step down or get fired because they couldn't handle the craziness...and I think I'm getting there. I've become quite the drinker aparently. I've grown to like beer a lot. Killians is probably my favorite. I've gotten a tattoo within the last year...it's a green Celtic Knot on my right forearm. I've drawn up what I want for my second tattoo, it's a Shure 55s microphone with the music to "The Fields Of Athenry" like a ribbon going around the mic and the YesterYear logo in the middle of the mic where the Shure logo is supposed to go. Speaking of YesterYear I've finished up my 2nd full length record entitled "The Good Intent". It's actually pretty good as far as I'm concerned. I've also finished up recording all of the songs for my next full length entitled "Tales From O'Connors". It's a really sweet fucking idea for a record and I can't wait to get it done. I'm really excited about it...that's why I've finished it up so quickly. 1 Year from today I'll be getting married. That's pretty crazy...not a bad kind of crazy...just an amazing kind of crazy. I've had a few friends from high school die since I last posted...it's been rough. Anyway, sorry my thoughts were all kinds of mixed up and jumbled for this entry, but I think I'll try and update this a little bit more than once a year.

So, for a while now Emily, her parents and I have noticed the slow but sure deterioration of their cat Shadey's mind. He's been walking around in circles, staring at the corner, not eating...the only thing he really does anymore is stretch out his neck when someone scratches his chin. He's not doing so well...he's very sick. So, as of tomorrow night at 9:30p.m. he'll be on his way to a better place. So we're told at least. Since I have the day off tomorrow I'm the one who gets to dig the hole...nothing I'm looking too forward to, but someone has to do it and Emily's working (and she wouldn't be able to do it anyway), Sheryl I don't think would be able to do it, and Mike...well he'd be able to but...I don't really want to put him through it. So, tomorrow's going to be a crap day.

Correction I need no direction...

So, it is now 11:28 in just over 13 hours I will be on my flight to Arkansas...That's right...Arkansas. I'll be gone for 2 weeks. I'm doing some manager training. I guess it's pretty cool, it's all paid for. They bought my tickets, put me up in an apartment and give me $230 for food and whatnot. It's pretty rad, but I feel like I'm selling out more and more each day. I mean FUCK! I'm going on a goddamn "business trip." Also, from now on, every February I have to go to Chicago for a week. All of this is pretty cool, but it seems as if I'm starting to grow up. New job, new car, new computer, (Emily has a new house), new clothes (I've done a lot of clothes shopping lately)...it's crazy. So anyway...I'm gone for two weeks...everyone miss me!

So...maybe "today" isn't the first day...but a week ago it was. Let me explain...As of May 1st I am the new Photo Manager at Sam's Club in Waterford. I'm now apart of the salaried members of the world. Also, as of yesterday I am now the proud owner of a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee Lareado. That's right folks I got a new fucking car!! Only about $300 a month and insurance is $186 a month...so for less than $500 a month I have a new car. It's fucking rad too! Anyway, that's about it...

I wish that we worked out for you...

So...I just got word that my grandparents were in a severe car accident. My grandfather recieved a broken nose, a gash across his head, and a broken collar bone. He was also knocked unconcious. My grandmother broke multiple bones, too many for me to remember...what I do remember is her pelvis, both her hips, 3 ribs, one of her lungs was punctured, she was knocked unconcious, when she was found she was bleeding from both her nose and her mouth. She's keeps fading in and out and we don't know how well she is actually doing. My mom's a wreck, my sister I haven't talked to...and I'm not entirely sure how I am. My mom and sister are going to the hospital in Grand Rapids tomorrow morning at 7am. I don't know if I want to go or not. It's somewhat of a difficult decision for me...if I go I'll be missing 3 days of work...which shouldn't matter at all...and it doesn't I guess...but I don't think I want to see her or my family right now. They'll all be crying and sad, which is completely understandable...but I am EXTREMELY angry. Also, if this does happen to be the last time I do see my grandmother I don't really want to see her this way...plugged into machines, and hooked up to IV's and hoses runnning in and out of her body. This really sucks. I don't really know what to say now...

Straighten up and fly right...

So, I realize it's been since before the new year that I've updated this, I also realize that not many people read this too much anymore. Honestly...I don't care. Not that I don't care about anyone reading this, it's just not a priority for me anymore. So here's what's going on in life right now. Next Thursday I will have my credit card completely paid off...that's a one thousand pound Monkey off my back. The house that Emily owns and I'm going to be moving into still needs a TON of work and it really sucks because the more time it takes for this thing to get fixed up...the longer it takes for me to move in. As far as I know Emily wants to be living by herself for a while before I move in with her...I don't really know how long "a while" is, but still it's longer than I want it to be. I still owe my mom like 5 grand, and I'm going to have to pay her off before I move in anyway...but I'm getting like $1000 back in taxes...so really I owe her $4000...which is still a fuck load of money...but I've been getting paid over $500 every two weeks, which means I can pay off my mom in about 4 months if all goes right. Who knows though. Anyway...for all of those of you who might not know...my birthday's coming up in a few weeks...March 4th actually...and I'm really NOT looking forward to it. I mean come on...I'm gonna be 23 what's special about that? Nothing. Anyway...this year will bring some good times though...Memorial Day weekend Emily, myself and my dad's side of the family are all going camping for like 4 days. It promises to be pretty kick ass. Next Jan. my mom is getting married...it's pretty crazy, I'm supposed to walk her down the aisle. I think it's pretty cool...I mean how many guys do you know that were their father's best man, and walked their mom down the aisle? The reception is going to have an open bar and my mom said she would get Emily and I a hotel room somewhere so I'm getting ALL KINDS OF FUCKED UP! Ummm...hopefully sometime this next year I'll propose to Emily and we'll start getting the wedding planned...we already have the date picked out and everything...just nothing else. This Sunday I'm going to a wedding show type thing with my mom, my aunt, my cousin, and my sister. I don't really know what to expect but I imagine I can figure out some shit. Anyway...getting to the present. Not much is going on right now. I mean I'm still working at Sam's Club, still not really writting too much, still collecting records...man you woud not believe my collection!! I have something like 585 records...it's NUTS! I don't know what it is man I love this shit! Lately I've been trying to venture my way out away from my conventional music genre. I've been really getting into Ray Charles, that man was a fucking genius! I picked up a few new CD's the other day...The Black Eyed Peas "Elephunk", Usher "Confessions" and Kanye West "The College Dropout". So far I've listened to the whole Kanye West Cd and it's pretty fucking good...I like it a lot. I think I'm gonna pick up the new Alicia Keys CD when I get paid next week...I saw her on the Grammy's and she was fucking incredible! Her and Jamie Foxx were Spectacular! Anyway, taht's about it for now...I'm gonna go watch Ray maybe I'll talk to you later. Peace!

Wanna go for a ride...

Hey Ho Let's GO!

  • Sep. 16th, 2004 at 11:37 PM

So today I found out that Johnny Ramone died yesterday...that's three members of The Ramones that have passed away. For some reason that is really depressing, I mean I'm sad about Johnny and all, but knowing that the majority of such an amazing band have died is so insanely depressing. Come on now, even The Beatles have half of their members still alive...and touring I might add. Also, on Saturday this year, it's the day that Jimi Hendrix</ib> died. How bad does this week suck?

So that's it right now...that's the update since December. now, those of you who are reading this may question some of the records I have in my posession...well, Fuck You!! Here's the list of the one's I have on the way, paid for and in the mail.

Michael Jackson "Bad" (it's his last good one get off my back)
Van Halen "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" (the last one I need to have all of their full-lengths! Pressed in Korea and on it's way to my bedroom!)
V/A "The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack To West Side Story" (this one probably won't make its way to MY record collection per say, but it's a present for Emily...eventually it'll be mine)
Elvis Presley "The Sun Sessions" (you have to have The King in the collection)
Bob Dylan "Highway 61 Revisited" (it's #4 on Rolling Stone Magazine's top 500 albums of all time, and I already have 1,2,3,5 & 6)
X "Los Angeles" (classic old punk record, aparently it's one that everyone should own...I'll let you know)
Husker Du "Land Speed Record" (their first record, and I've heard nothing but good things about it...plus I love "Zen Arcade")
Husker Du "New Day Rising" (also on the Rolling Stone Mag's top 500 and I thought that was pretty impressive...plus I love "Zen Arcade")

So, that's all I have coming...just sitting here waiting for them...waiting for the mail to come...just waiting...

There are some who call me, Tim...

TODAY WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!

So, in talking to my brother I never had (Clark) today I've realized a few things too many of my old friends are moving on and moving up in the world. I don't necessarily feel like I should, but I do feel like I'm being left behind. I mean shit, one friend is living out his dream and making video games for Nintendo (Clark), another is contemplating going to WA to get his masters (Chris), another recently moved out to JAPAN (Eric), and yet another is going to Michigan State to get his Ph.D in Psychology (Robbie). All of this is happening while I'm still at home, living with my mom, not doing shit with my life, aside from working at a dead end job making shit for money and having no fun at all. The best part of my life right now is spending time with Emily and getting records...what the fuck heppened to me? I mean, why is everyone moving so fast except me? I mean, I knwo I have a lot going for me, shit I'm getting married in three years...that's big right? Yeah, and there's nothing I want more than to spend the rest of my life with Emily, I love her more than anything. In that aspect of life I am set. But, damn...I haven't done shit with my music in over a year...I don't write all that much anymore (but I'm trying to remedy that)...and I can't even remember the last time I took a decent picture. Life is rediculous sometimes huh? I mean here I am, I hang out with friends who are at least 3 years older than I am, and all of my friends from High School who are MY age are accomplishing more than I could ever imagine myself accomplishing.

I'm thinking far too much...and it's killing me.

So, life tends to get more and more complicated as it continues. Not that today is any more complicated than yesterday, but it seems like with every year comes more complications. Now, this is not meant to offend anyone at all. It seems as if people in general become more difficult to deal with, maybe my temper shortens every year, maybe people get more annoying...either way I think something may be wrong with me. So instead of bottling up all of my frustrations, complications, and morbid fasinations...I think I've decided I want to try my hand at writing. Nothing spectacular, just something. I have a pretty good idea for a story right now...not necessarily a New York Times Best Seller by any means, but a pretty good idea none the less. Yeah, well maybe not. I don't know...another year passes and I still feel the same.

Wish something would change...sometime.

20 MORE, REASONS TO HATE BUSH JR.

1. He refused to buy adequate body armor for our troops in Iraq. A study done by a defense consultant reveals that approximately 25% of casualties could have been prevented with better armor.

2. Responsible for the highest U.S. trade deficit EVER: $43.1 billion.

3. Bush Jr. gave his campaign contributors and strongest supporters $8 Billion in contracts to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan. Corporations like Halliburton, Bechtel, Kellogg, Brown & Root, etc. Numerous scandalshave been uncovered regarding these "friendly" contractors who are ripping off US tax-payers by overcharging for their services.

4. Bush campaign shirts were made in Burma under sweatshop conditions. Interestingly enough, in 2003 Bush Jr. signed legislation banning products from Burma effective September 1st, 2003.

5. He approved the sale of $20 million worth of shackles, electro-shock technology, and other torture devices to countries that have been condemned for torture.

6. College tuition has increased 28% during the Bush Jr. administration.

7. The Bush Jr. administration was told by over 60 influential scientists, including 20 Nobel Prize winners, that they are "Deliberately and systematically distorting scientific facts - in the service of policy goals on the environment, health, biomedical research, and nuclear weaponry at home and abroad."

8. He proposed a budget that would slash 40% of the funding for after-school programs. No child left behind? This decrease would cut off about 475,000 children.

9. Bush Jr. authorized the use of cluster bombs and "Daisy Cutters" (the world's biggest non-nuclear bomb) in populated areas of Iraq. These have contributed to the deaths of over 10,000 innocent civilians, more than three times the number of casualities suffered in the tragic 9/11 attacks. Note: NO iraquis were involved in the 9/11 attacks.

10. Richard clarke (Chief Anti-Terrorism Advisor) and Paul O'Neill (US Treasury Secretary) both testified that Bush Jr. was intent on invading Iraq within the first few days of his Presidency. Clarke claims that Bush Jr. ignored his warnings about an imminent al Qaeda attack. On September 12th, Bush Jr. instructed his staff to find a connection between al Qaeda and Iraq, and despite no connection ever being discovered (and against the CIA's recomendation), he still chose to invade Iraq. Note: This has been confirmed by the 9/11 commission.

11. Although he still claims that fighting terrorism is his main priority, Bush Jr. slashed the FBI's requested counterterrorism budget by two-thirds.

12. Bush Jr. has made it clear that in his next term he plans to appoint Supreme Court Judges who are against a woman's right to choose, and would effectivelyoutlaw abortion on a national level.

13. Bush Jr. still has yet to attend a soldier's funeral and continues to steer American public away from knowing about the casualities. He has done even less to acknowledge the over 18,000 troops that have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

14. His administration illegally produced fake pro-Bush "news" spots for the Dept. of Health and Human Services. They went as far as to include phony journalists who praise Dubya's controversial Medicare Bill and they added a fake crowd to cheer tha whole thing on.

15. In an effort to give the apperance that Bush Jr. was creating more jobs, his administration tried to reclassify fast food employment as manufacturing jobs. These minimum wage jobs are nothing like real manufacturing jobs that provide benefits and pay $15/hour.

16. His administration proposed the highest penalties in the world for indecency violations on our public airwaves. Up to $500,000 for saying something the FCC deems offensive.

17. He is a religious fanatic that believes in the apocalypse and that ONLY Evangelical Christians are eligible for the afterlife. Catholics, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and everyone that isn't Bush's flock are all doomed to Hell. To see the full extent of his extremist views, watch the PBS documentary "The Jesus Factor".
See it here :
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/jesus/

18. The Treasury Department under Bush Jr. assigned five times as many agents to investigate Cuban embargo violations as they did to track the financial resources of both Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.

19. Right before Christmas Bush Jr. cut overtime pay for over 644,000 employees who work over 40 hours a week.

20. Against Colin powell's advice, Bush Jr. chose not to recognize Afghanistan's statehood, therefore making it's people not protected by International Law and vulnerable to human rights abuses and torture. Up until that decision by Bush Jr., the US Military could boast a proud history of upholding the humane laws of the Geneva Convention.

20 REASONS TO HATE BUSH JR.

1. The national debt under Bush Jr. has increased so drastically that the average American's estimated share of national debt will be an astronomical $24,000 compared to $500 when Dubya first took office.

2. Under Bush Jr. there are now 43 million Americans with no health insurance.

3. Responsible for an unemployment rate of 6%. There are now 9 million people out of work in America - 3.3 million more than when Bush took office.

4. He cut healthcare benefits for war veterans.

5. Bush Jr. deserted his unit during Vietnam and was reportedly AWOL for over a year from his assigned unit: The Texas Air national Guard, or as it's referred to by other militaryoutfits, the "Champagne Division".

6. Despite a 13% unemployment rate among those aged 16-24, Bush Jr. proposed to eliminate youth opportunity grants - a program that provides job training to the nation's youth. a $225M program in 2002 is now being done away with so Bush can have more money for Iraq.

7. He cut funding for 375,000 low income college students and reduced Pell Grant amounts to such a severe degree that it effectively caused 84,000 students to no longer be eligible for Pell Grants. Pell amounts have been overall reduced for 1.5 Million students...it's safe to say that the Bush daughters aren't eligible for financial aid, so this won't affect the opulent lives of anyone Bush Jr. may know.

8. Withdrew from the International Criminal Court.

9. First President in US history to refuse united nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. elections).

10. All-Time U.S. (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign donations.

11. The Bush Administration had twice as mant FBI Agents fighting the drug war than fighting terrorism prior to 9/11. Even after 9/11, more than 2,000 FBI agents are wasting their valuable time assigned to the war on drugs.

12. His proposed "Free Trade" agreements would result in the loss of U.S. jobs to foreign markets and the exploitation of third world workers.

13. John Ashcroft.

14. He has taken 11 official executive actions to undermine reproductive rights...How long will it be before a woman is stripped of her right to choose?

15. failed to fulfill pledge to get Osama Bin Laden "Dead Or Alive".

16. Wasted Federal resources on a PR trip to Baghdad where he staged a Thanksgiving meal at 6 am with troops that were screened based on their political affiliation. And the turkey? It was a prop.

17. His refusal to fire - or even reprimand - Lt. General Jerry "our god is bigger than their god" Boykin. Perhaps it's because Boykin said of the President, "George Bush was not elected by a majority of voters in the United States. He was appointed by god. He's in the White House because god put him there."

18. After sending troops off to die in an unjust and unprovoked war, he still has yet to attend and soldiers' funerals.

19. His shameless nepotism for the rich and powerful. Elizabeth Cheney (daughter of Ol' Dick) got hooked up with a cool gig at The State Department where she was in charge of the $129 Million Middle East partnership initiative and then was moved over to daddy and uncle Dubya's campaign payroll.

20. He dropped his dog on its head.

It's just a teenage wasteland...

So, tonight I started looking through my mom's old photo albums, and god damn I was a good lookin' kid. Ha, no seriously though, it's weird to look at old pictures of me and my sister (in some of them) and my parents...together. It's funny, all my life I've been wishing that I could grow up for some reason...and now I kind of want to go back to that point in my life where I was truly happy...not saying I'm not really truly happy right now, but there's this hint of innocence to my happiness back than. You can see it in my smile...you know?...like when you look at the pictures and you see my face...you just get that feeling...like there's so much in the future that I know nothing of what's in store. It's kind of sad really. I know I'm rambling on and on here...but goddamnit that's what this fucking thing is for! So I'm sitting here right now listening to this band called The Jayhawks, I saw them on some local access channel type thing at my dad's house and so I went on Ebay and bought one of their albums... "Rainy Day Music" and fucked if it isn't really damn good...kind of old folky / country like, kind of Bob Dylan like in a way. Anyway I regress from my point, I sit here listening to this record and looking at these pictures and fucked if it doesn't bring a smile to my face. There's pictures in here that I completely forgot about, like of my dad and I...or just of my dad that are just kind of weird.

Okay, for anyone who cares; my parents were 21 when they had me.

So my parents being so young and looking at my dad in these pictures, I know this sounds really weird, but I get kind of confused, because we look A LOT alike. There's one picture in particular of my dad that threw me for a loop, he has this face that I make ALL THE TIME. No I don't expect anyone to really understand this, but it's like breaking my heart in a good way to see pictures of my dad and me together. (and yes I realize that my topics are all over the place here) Like it hurts because I can't remember any of these times...really...and yet at the same time, I get this amazing feeling because I KNOW that was me there, and I KNOW that was me being TRULY happy. I'm really happy I decided to look though these. It's kind of liberating. You ever see High Fidelity? Kind of like seeing my all time Top 5 happiest childhood moments in just a few books. God damn I miss being a kid.
